Green Chutney
Chutneys can add zest to most meal. In India, you will usually find a selection of different kinds served in tiny bowls for
people to choose from. Chutneys are also known to increase one’s appetite and aid digestion.
Serves 6:
Preparation time: 10 minutes
- Mint – 1 small bunch.
- Tomato – 1 large
- Coriander – 1 large bunch.
- Green Chillie – 1
- Lime – 1 teaspoon
- Salt – ½ teaspoon or to taste.
- Add mint, tomato, coriander, green chillie, lemon juice and salt in a blender.
- Blend all the ingredients to a paste.
- Pour in a serving bowl and serve with all kinds of fried starters, viz. samosa, onion bhaji, pakora and others.
Variation:
Add desiccated coconut, handful of peanuts, ginger and tamarind for a slight variation. Add more sugar or chillies to suit
your specific taste preferences.
Tips:
Chutney can be made and preserved for a few days in the refrigerator!
